About Me
Hector Chomat
Real Estate Past Experience

A life in Real Estate – both as a Mortgage Loan Originator and Real Estate Sales.
- Thank you for your interest in wanting to know additional and more thorough information about me, who leads the efforts of County Trust Capital. My goal is to take this company and make it grow. This would not be my first time as a business owner, and as a matter of fact, I’ve been an entrepreneur, business owner most of my adult life except for the first five years after college when I worked at Great Western Bank back in the 1980’s as a loan officer. At Great Western Bank I became a top mortgage loan producer. I stayed at Great Western Bank until 1990 when I left the bank and opened County Trust Mortgage Bankers until year 2007 when it closed permanently because of the financial crisis.
- One point of importance is my strong background in real estate is of my knowledge of knowing how to process and get the mortgages approved as a Mortgage Loan Originator. At Great Western Bank where I started my mortgage lending career is where I had to learn how to process loans from start to finish the mortgage transaction. At Great Western Bank there were no processors, you had to do it yourself. This is not typical as most loan officers do not know how to process loans, they usually start the transaction with minimum documentation and then let the loan processor finish the mortgage transaction. Knowing how to process a loan in mortgage lending is critical, as this way you know the nuts and bolts of what it takes to put a transaction together.
- “is like a race car driver knowing not only how to drive a fast car, but knowing how to repair it, in addition how to design parts for optimum performance.”

Key points about Hector
Great Western Bank and University of Wa, Seattle , Wa.
Top Producer, Great Western Bank, Graduate from University of Wa, 1983, Microbiology and Immunology.
1983 – 1990
Upon graduating from UW, I joined Great Western Bank as a mortgage loan originator. Eventually became a top producer for the large Savings and Loan institution. Learned to leverage the power of mortgage loan processing. By learning how to process mortgages, I learned the invaluable trait of how to structure and process complex mortgage transactions for the giant savings and loan institution. Learned the importance of knowing what it takes to approve and fund lending transactions in the banking industry while keeping an eye on credit risk. This is like a race car driver knowing not only how to drive a fast car, but knowing how to repair it, in addition how to design parts for optimum performance.
County Trust Mortgage Bankers, Mortgage Loan Originator and Other lenders
President, CEO and mortgage loan originator at other institutions
1990 – Present
Started County Trust Mortgage Bankers and eventually grew to become a well known Miami, FL institution funding over $30 million in funding per month. Created a digital conveyor belt between Miami and India where India converted our faxed in transactions by originators to ready to underwrite transactions in less than 24 hrs. This process, before creating the India conveyor belt, was a week-long process in addition to many, many errors. In essence created framework to lower cost, increase efficiencies and thus dramatically increased profit. However also learned that mortgage transactions were plagued with credit risks way too high for the mortgage banker. It was credit risk that made me realize that the mortgage industry would collapse in the near future. Credit and real estate risk is hard to teach and appreciate. Learning how to process and underwrite or approve loans helped us mitigate risk but would not be enough to save the financial institution.
From 2007 through present I´ve continued to work in the financial industry at different mortgage companies as a mortgage loan originator. Always a relevant top producer. My NMLS ID is 325544 and is active and in good standing.
During all this time in the mortgage and real estate industry learned to manage rental properties owned by the firm. Learned how to manage Section 8 properties, tenants rights, construction, evictions (lots of them), foreclosing on delinquent borrowers and property improvements and preservation.
Above all, learned the importance of communication and accountability to partners, the passive investor. Cash preservation
